Christmas message

Just before Christmas 2018, there was a meeting with a high dignitary of the Roman Catholic Church. This message was drafted for that meeting.

This civilization must grow up

There is a classification of civilizations according to their level of development. This begins with civilization level 0: "Helpless like a baby.

The technology to become an adult civilization and especially to survive at all is already there, it is only mental barriers that prevent to use it to the necessary extent.

People do not accept "God created man in His image", but prefer to hang on to a belief of being little useless pests, the worst expression of this disbelief is "Healthy planets have no people".

People do not accept the full implications of the mandate to "subdue the earth," which is interpreted in Pope Francis' encyclical "Laudato si" as "shepherd, protect, oversee, preserve, maintain, guard."

This mission is much more than "just don't break anything". It is the order to develop the necessary technology to be able to master this order for many billions of years.

Infinitism breathes new life into these two hitherto little-noted beliefs: "God created man in His image" as an enabling proof of the solvability of all the problems we will encounter in the course of "subdue the earth." Infinitism explores which problems are coming up to us, shows how these could already be solved with the present technical, scientific state of mankind.

At the moment, mankind has been on the civilization leap from "helpless like a baby" to "can solve immediate problems" for 2 centuries without being aware of it. This civilization leap, the coming of age of mankind, has been completed with worldwide prosperity, a successful planetary cleanup and the measures to be able to solve immediate problems. Planetary cleanup means reducing CO2 to 280 ppm pre-industrial levels, or a level that science agrees is the optimum.

Technically, this is not a problem; it only requires spiritual guidance. Religion is not a private matter, but must be located above politics in order to provide the guidelines of a civilization, which are then implemented by politics.

I hope for your cooperation in helping humanity, in this difficult phase of coming of age, to finally become aware of the full scope of the mission.

Conversation with an atheist

Discussions with atheists about this topic always lead to the statement "We are all dead by then". This was also the case at this meeting. Responsibility for a period of time that clearly exceeds the average MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) of a human body could not be conveyed.

It would be a shame if this once powerful organization continues to degenerate into utter irrelevance instead of joining the positive forces of survival.
